What happened to Vegeta saying I will never fight again...
My memory is a little hazy but I know in 1 of the movies (I think either Bojack or Android thirteen) that takes place after the Cell saga Vegeta is sitting depressed in his room because of how he thinks he only hindered the fight at the Prison cell games. However the Buu saga never really touches on this fact. Did Vegeta just suck it upwardly and start grooming again? Is annihilation about this ever mentioned?
I know people frequently theorize how the prison cell saga was meant to be the final and so Vegeta but would accept ended his character with withdrawing from fighting which would have been pretty epic, merely when the Buu saga came round I doubt he would have just saturday at that place while all the fighting was going on even if he had declared he would never fight again.
Just wanted to get people'due south thoughts and opinions/facts on this issue.

I'm sure he sulked for a while, simply its vii years betwixt the Prison cell games and the Buu arc and Vegeta basically doesn't know how to do anything else besides training and fighting. And then, imo, he sulked for a while, and then slowly he started grooming again and regaining the taste for information technology.

Well, the serial wouldn't cover what happened in the movies because they are treated every bit a separate universe to the anime and manga. Peculiarly and then with the manga. The scene y'all're thinking of is in the Bojack movie. But Vegeta says he'll never fight over again in the manga and the anime. This, to me, doesn't mean he didn't go along to train. It only means that if something had happened during the 7 years he would not fight. But seeing as in that location was 7 years of peace it doesn't really make much of difference that he stopped fighting because nada ever happened in those vii years anyway.
The fact that Goku came dorsum for a twenty-four hour period gave Vegeta a take a chance to fight him which is what he desired.

Goku was the sole reason Vegeta put his trunk through hell to go stronger and following Goku'southward death, and on top of that Goku dying with regret or fear, Vegeta felt like he no longer had a purpose because he could never have the sustained satisfaction of surpassing Goku and pretty much lost to will to fight. Then Goku came back for a twenty-four hours, and I judge for Vegeta, it was merely likewise good of an opportunity to refuse.

Training and fighting seriously to be #ane are two different things.
He wanted to surpass Goku, and Goku i-upped him and and then died, so Vegeta could never beat him to brand information technology worse. At that point nothing he did anymore would really matter, if he wanted to be the best.

The events of Film 9 spurred him back into action and helped him alter his mind.

Isn't it obvious? Goku's dead. Then lemme guess, some people expect Vegeta to have a grudge against the dead or something?

He tried not working, he probably even tried getting a job, but the urge to train himself into a blackout was too strong to resist.

He definitly got over information technology well before buy saga because past then he already seems to have been training again and even calls gohan soft a few times when encountering dabura or inbound the underground layer of my memory serves me well enough.

Re: What happened to Vegeta saying I will never fight again.
We know Toriyama was going to keep Goku dead and have Gohan be the main character so I think he was planning on taking Vegeta out of the picture as well to go on the spotlight on Gohan,Goten and Trunks (the heroes of the new generation) but thankfully he changed his mind before starting the Buu arc cause that would have been a very bad move on his role.
In terms of an in story reason I think training and fighting is in his blood and then there's no mode he would just sit around and do goose egg.
July 9th 2018 volition be remembered as the twenty-four hour period Broly became canon.

Kaboom never claimed the movie to be an instrument of war.

I would give admittedly anything to take a DBZ movie based on Vegeta challenging young Gohan in that fourth dimension frame after training for a yr or two. It could exist the explanation of how Vegeta got to SSJ2.

He almost likely got over information technology. Or at least wasn't near as obsessed with fighting until Goku came back.

Yeah, I'm going to go with this. I mean come on, what else would Vegeta do in those vii years. Well, I guess I could remember of a few things...
Only other than that, he would exist training.

The data books say he reached information technology through hard training during the 7 years between Prison cell and Buu.

Simple.
Vegeta gave up initially on fighting due to Goku dying before he tin prove himself to him only every bit soon every bit Trunks reached training-advisable age he regained some incentive to train, and since he knew Gohan wouldn't continue up with his preparation conviction resurfaced and he decided he would make Trunks strong enough and then he can crush Gohan vicariously.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off and then much, it was impossible to keep him in the earth of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modernistic tastes and sensibilities. Allow stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.I e'er side center the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids tin feel what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck nearly your childhood? You're an developed at present and it was at least fifteen years ago. Let the kids have their ain experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Re: What happened to Vegeta saying I will never fight again.
Bulma states at the Tournament that Vegeta spent the last 5 years preparation. So it's safe to assume he sulked for 2 years and then decided to start training again. This could exist for any of the following reasons:
1. To claiming Goku in the afterlife (It'southward clear that he had an interest in this when he subsequently asks Piccolo if he'll go to meet him when he dies)
ii. To surpass Gohan
three. To defend the earth from any possible threat
4. Boredom
